RSS, the Hindu right wing, orchestrated a triumphant victory for BJP, its political wing, in the last Lok Sabha election, knowing the BJP is sure to play RSS’ melody rather than the one BJP candidates sang to the nation at election rallies. The government should conduct its orchestra by enacting laws that are founded on and guided by natural law. Any deviation from this results in a cacophony that creates confusion in society. The BJP government is determined to further the agenda of RSS, while at the same time hoping it can strike a chord with the nation by backing development. A wise man once said one cannot serve two masters at the same time; you either love one or hate the other. RSS ideology is based on wrong principles, and if it is allowed to be implemented, this nation’s socio-economic, political, and religious fabric will be in shreds.
In the name of development, BJP government wants to exercise absolute power. The present “Land Act Bill” BJP introduced in the parliament gives individuals no right to fight land acquisition, because land acquisition is the sole prerogative of the government.
The wrong notes to the wrong beats are being played, as we hear, “Ghar Wapasi” “Ramzada and Haramzada.” Those calling for “home coming” claim that all those born in India are sons and daughters of Ram. Banning the slaughter of cows is yet another action item on the RSS agenda. Attached to this ban is rigorous punishment with which to harass minorities. What is the rationale for such a claim? God ought to be sought in truth and freedom, not by coersion, by Ghar Wapasi. Those blinded with Ghar Wapasi cannot comprehend good works done by those people who have served God in truth and freedom. Mother Teresa of Kolkata is one such person who truly served God in truth and freedom, as she joyfully reached out to the poorest of the poor. Indeed, Mother Teresa struck chords that created perfect harmony, and all of humanity recognized it and loved the melody. She won the Nobel Prize in 1979.
Using its courts to ban the documentary “India’s Daughter,” India’s present government has added yet another suicidal note to its cacophony. It is jarring to the ears. Every twenty minutes a woman is raped in India. Is this a source of national pride? Goa Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar said that some people are born with disabilities due to the “mistake” and “negligence” of God. Parsekar had the audacity to say that he has been made Goa’s Chief Minister because he is a hardcore RSS member.
