The Saffronalist Symphony

The nation, including Goa, is being entertained with discordant symphonies produced by psycho-saffronalists who contaminate nationalism with communalism. Their repertoire does not extend beyond name-calling, blaming, shaming, denying, deceiving, bullying and banning. The very obstructionists who authored the ‘Scam India’ global sentiment are now parading as reformists with ‘Skill India’. It is only a matter of time before traitors in India’s freedom struggle will get crowned as patriots by overturning what gets mocked at as ‘enlightened scientific history’.
The ‘Namaste’ of the PM has already given way to ‘Khem Cho’ with less of governance and more of global business marketing. It appears as if the capital of India has been shifted from New Delhi to Ahmedabad.  Sadly, Ignorance continues to sell as ‘Acche Din’ in the Indian political market.
This trait of ‘running with the hare and hunting with the hound’ is dominant in the DNA of saffronalists. The assurances given on foreign tours by the PM about ensuring equality to all faiths in society could actually mean quite another for him and his saffronalist fraternity back home.
Containing Christians within a 2.5 % share and Muslims within around 14% share in the social and economic sphere is also about equality in the logic of saffronalists. In other words, each religious community getting economic and political opportunities only in proportion to their population is saffron equality. This very much appears to be the partisan measure that is adopted when it comes to granting permissions and grants for minority educational institutions and foreign contribution approvals to Civil Society Groups in this country. Throwing figures in debates has been the deceptive strategy of saffronalists, and so when it comes to desecration and vandalisation of churches we immediately have figures of temple thefts being tagged along to deny any intolerance towards Christians under BJP rule. Similarly, we have exaggerations about conversions and foreign funding to Christians to justify an anti-conversion law. Interestingly, the crores of rupees of foreign funding availed by saffron organisations from the west is cleverly ignored in the debate.
It is in this context cited above, that the consistent attempts to demonize convent education and falsely attribute motives of conversion to Christian social initiatives needs to be understood. The attempts to equate Christmas Day and Good Friday with Independence Day and Valmiki Diwas springs from such a dubious agenda. A lie repeated a thousand times gradually slips in as the truth. While Swamis, Babas, Sadhvis and Sadhus freely dabble in politics and even enjoy MLA status, mere routine political awareness by the Church gets promptly condemned as interference of religion in politics. Any legitimate right demanded from the Government by the minorities gets ridiculed as an attempt to polarise society or, as being done at the behest of foreign powers. This insanity has now further degenerated into demands for banning of foods, clothing, entertainment, voting rights, procreation and who knows what next.
