Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis’s visit to Davos for the World Economic Forum (WEF) annual meeting is focused on attracting investment and generating employment, and not a leisure trip, his wife Amruta Fadnavis said on Wednesday.
Responding to remarks made by Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut, Amruta Fadnavis dismissed the criticism as unfounded, asserting that the chief minister is engaged in intensive discussions to advance the state’s economic interests.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of an event in Mumbai, Amruta said the CM’s schedule in Davos involves a packed agenda of conferences and meetings running from early morning till late night, all aimed at bringing investments to India and Maharashtra.
She подчеркed that such a demanding routine is inconsistent with claims of a “picnic,” adding that the objective of the Davos visit is to boost industrial growth and create employment opportunities. Terming the remarks against the chief minister as baseless, she said they reflect a pattern of unwarranted criticism rather than facts.
