Budget 2026: ₹25 Crore Proposed for AI Capacity-Building Missions

The Union government has proposed ₹25 crore for capacity-building Artificial Intelligence missions, signalling a strong push towards emerging technologies, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced while presenting the Union Budget 2026–27 in the Lok Sabha.

The Finance Minister said the government is placing special emphasis on artificial intelligence as a key driver of inclusive growth, innovation and national progress. She noted that several national-level AI missions have already been launched to strengthen research, skill development and innovation ecosystems across the country.
