Olympic medallist Mary Kom’s ex-husband Karung Onkholer has denied her allegations of financial cheating and loss of land, instead making counter-allegations of extramarital affairs. He claimed that problems in their marriage began in 2013, alleging that Kom was involved in a relationship with a junior boxer, which led to disputes between their families before a compromise was reached.
He further alleged that since 2017, Kom was involved with someone associated with the Mary Kom Boxing Academy and claimed to possess messages as proof. Onkholer said he had no objection to his former wife moving on after their divorce in 2023 but objected to being publicly blamed for wrongdoing.
Denying claims of stealing crores of rupees or misusing property, he said his current living conditions contradicted such allegations. Married in 2005, the couple share four children, and Onkholer said he did not want to pursue a legal battle as his priority remained his family.
