At least 22 people have fallen ill after consuming contaminated drinking water in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, just weeks after a deadly outbreak of water-borne diseases claimed several lives. The latest cases were reported mainly from the Mhow area, where residents complained of vomiting and diarrhoea after drinking polluted water. Nine patients have been admitted to hospital, while others are undergoing treatment at home under medical supervision. Authorities warned that the number of cases could rise beyond 25 as fresh complaints emerge from nearby localities. The district administration swung into action late Thursday night, with District Collector Shivam Verma visiting patients and deploying health teams. A door-to-door survey is underway to identify new cases and assess symptom severity.
