Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday expressed deep concern over the deteriorating security situation in West Asia during joint remarks with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney. Referring to the recent military action by the United States and Israel against Iran, which reportedly resulted in the killing of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, Modi said the situation was a “matter of grave concern” for India.
He affirmed that New Delhi would continue coordinating with regional partners to ensure the safety of Indian nationals. Emphasising India’s consistent stand, Modi said conflicts must be resolved through dialogue and diplomacy. Both leaders also underscored that terrorism and radicalisation remain shared global challenges requiring collective action.
