IMD Issues Cyclone ‘Shakti’ Alert for Maharashtra; Heavy Rains Expected from October 4-7

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert as Cyclone ‘Shakti’ approaches Maharashtra, forecasting heavy rains and strong winds across several districts. The advisory is effective from October 3 to 7, with the highest impact expected between October 4 and 7.

The warning specifically covers Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, Raigad, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg districts. Coastal areas in North Maharashtra are likely to experience winds ranging from 45 to 55 kmph, with gusts reaching up to 65 kmph between October 3 and 5.
