KRAFTON Confirms inZOI PS5 Launch Window, Explains Why Console Version Needs More Time

KRAFTON has officially revealed new details about the PlayStation 5 version of inZOI, confirming that the highly anticipated life simulator will launch on PS5 in the first half of 2027.

The studio explained that the console edition requires additional development time because it is being redesigned specifically for PlayStation hardware rather than simply being ported from PC. While the PC version launched in Early Access to collect direct player feedback and improve systems over time, KRAFTON believes console players expect a more polished and stable experience at launch.

According to the developers, releasing an unfinished or bug-heavy version on PS5 was never part of the plan. Instead, the team is prioritising optimisation, smoother gameplay, and better user experience for console audiences.

The PS5 edition of inZOI will feature customised DualSense controller support, including redesigned control layouts tailored for console gameplay. KRAFTON is also reworking the game’s interface for large television screens, with updated menus and transitions aimed at improving visibility and navigation from a distance.

Performance optimisation is another major focus area. Since consoles operate on fixed hardware, the developers are working to ensure the game’s large open cities run smoothly on PlayStation 5 without major frame drops or technical issues.

Due to these development challenges, KRAFTON stated that a large-scale public beta for consoles is unlikely. However, the studio still plans to involve players throughout development by releasing gameplay showcase videos highlighting controller mechanics, UI changes, and TV-friendly layouts. Feedback from fans will reportedly be collected through community platforms like Discord.

The company emphasised that its goal is to deliver a complete and satisfying base game at launch rather than relying heavily on post-release patches. While the wait until 2027 may disappoint some fans, KRAFTON appears focused on quality and long-term stability over a rushed release.
