Mohsin Naqvi ready to give trophy to India, but adds his ‘usual’ twist

Asia Cup 2025 final ends in controversy as India refuses to accept trophy from Mohsin Naqvi, citing anti-India remarks and procedural disputes.

India’s Asia Cup 2025 victory over Pakistan ended in dramatic controversy as the team refused to accept the trophy from Mohsin Naqvi, the ACC chief and Pakistan Cricket Board chairman. Naqvi reportedly informed organisers that India could receive their medals only if a formal function was organised for him to present the awards—a demand unlikely to be met.

After India won the final by five wickets at Dubai International Stadium, the post-match presentation was delayed by 45 minutes. Individual awards went to players like Tilak Varma, Abhishek Sharma, and Kuldeep Yadav, while Pakistan players received runners-up cheques and medals. No trophy was presented to India, leading to a standoff.
