Nine Killed as Bus Falls Into Ravine in Andhra Pradesh’s Alluri District; Dozens Injured

Nine people were killed and several others injured after a bus lost control and plunged into a ravine on a hilly stretch in Andhra Pradesh’s Alluri district early this morning. The accident occurred around 5:30 am near Tulasipakalu village.

According to the district collector, the bus was carrying 35 passengers along with two drivers and a cleaner at the time of the mishap. “Nine people have died. Seven have been shifted to the CHC Chintur, which is about 15 km from the spot. A rescue operation is underway. After stabilisation, we will move the injured to Bhadrachalam,” the collector said.

Preliminary reports indicate that the vehicle skidded off the road while negotiating a sharp curve in the forested ghat section, causing it to tumble down a steep slope. Local police, emergency responders, and villagers rushed to the scene to assist survivors and help clear the wreckage. Investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing.
