Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut launched a sharp attack on the RSS and the BJP, questioning actor Salman Khan’s presence at a recent Sangh event. Speaking to reporters, Raut asked whether Khan’s attendance was genuine outreach or simply political optics aimed at drawing crowds.
He demanded clarification from RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, asking if the actor was invited to signal that Muslims are now welcome in the organisation. Raut claimed local chatter suggested the invitation may have been more out of compulsion than conviction, mocking the RSS’s long-standing political stance.

MVA Strategy and Uddhav’s Return
Raut also spoke about the Maha Vikas Aghadi’s preparations for upcoming Rajya Sabha and Legislative Council elections. He publicly urged Uddhav Thackeray to re-enter the Legislative Council, saying his presence in the legislature was essential for Maharashtra.
Additionally, Raut criticised the appointment of Mayor Ritu Tawde, calling her a “borrowed” candidate from Congress. He alleged the BJP was pressured into appointing a Marathi Mayor due to Shiv Sena’s push for Marathi pride.
Concluding, Raut dismissed the District Parishad elections as “child’s play,” citing alleged irregularities, including malfunctioning EVMs and unusual polling incidents.
