A 70-year-old resident, identified as Olavio Fernandes, tragically passed away after suffering a suspected heart attack while attending the Santa Cruz Gram Sabha. According to sources present at the meeting, Fernandes stood up to raise a query related to the transfer of flats when he suddenly collapsed. People at the venue immediately rushed to assist him and attempted to contact emergency ambulance services. However, as the ambulance reportedly did not arrive in time, local residents quickly arranged transportation and took him to the Goa Medical College (GMC) Hospital. Despite their efforts, doctors declared him dead on arrival. The incident created shock among attendees, with many expressing concern over emergency response delays and the need for faster medical assistance at public gatherings.
