The Shamli district administration has invoked the stringent National Security Act (NSA) against the accused in a triple murder case, officials said on Sunday.
The accused, Farukh (45), was arrested on December 17 last year for allegedly killing his wife and two minor daughters in Ghari Daulat village of Kandhla area. Police said Farukh allegedly shot dead his wife Tahira and one daughter, while the other daughter was strangled following a family dispute.

The bodies were buried inside the house to destroy evidence, police said. After his arrest, the bodies were recovered and the accused was sent to jail. Shamli Superintendent of Police N P Singh said the NSA was imposed on Saturday. A sessions court has rejected Farukh’s bail plea, and further legal formalities under the NSA are underway.
