‘₹75 Lakh Ganesh Pandal Scam’: Madganvcho Awaaz Demands Accountability from PWD Minister Digambar Kamat

The alleged ₹75 lakh Ganesh pandal scandal involving the Margao Sarvajanik Shree Ganeshotsav Mandal has resurfaced, with local activists demanding transparency and accountability from Public Works Department (PWD) Minister and Margao MLA Digambar Kamat.

According to Madganvcho Awaaz and youth leader Prabhav Naik, the controversy pertains to funds amounting to ₹75 lakh that were reportedly utilised for the construction of a Ganesh pandal through MLALAD–PWD allocations. Naik alleged that the issue came to light after Ganesh Chaturthi 2025, but no clear explanation has been provided to the people of Margao since then.

He claimed that Madganvkars have been kept in the dark regarding the utilisation of public funds and questioned the lack of transparency surrounding the expenditure. Raising the issue on the occasion of Maagh Ganesh Jayanti, Naik said the festival symbolises truth and wisdom, and called upon the minister to come forward with a clear explanation.

“On this auspicious day, the people of Margao deserve clarity. It is time for accountability, not silence or cover-ups,” Naik stated, adding that public funds must be used responsibly and be subject to scrutiny.

The activists have urged the authorities to disclose details of the expenditure and ensure that proper procedures were followed, warning that continued silence could erode public trust.
