Acting on Herald report that two government officers from Vasco were seen attending to typing classes, Naik issued the memo to Kalangutkar seeking an explanation within 24 hours why necessary action should not be initiated against him under prevalent rules.
Naik has directed Joint Mamlatdar Vinod Dalal, who is looking after the Civil Supplies department, to conduct a further inquiry against Kalangutkar.
Naik has also directed Joint Mamlatdar Nathan Afonso, who is holding additional charge of Civil Supplies, to conduct a detailed investigation against Kalangutkar.
When contacted, Afonso admitted that Naik issued a memo to Kalangutkar on Wednesday and had directed him to reply within 24 hours. “Kalangutkar did not attend to the Civil Supplies office at Vasco on Thursday and instead sent a sick leave note,” he said.
Afonso further said he is in the process of conducting the investigation and the report will be forwarded to Naik.
