The duo have been arrested by Vasco police for attempted murder. Both accused on September 7, along with 8 others, with common intention, armed with deadly weapons, formed an unlawful assembly and assaulted Rehman Kattimani and Maulali Shaikh with punches and kicks and also stabbed Maulali in the chest. Public Prosecutor Subhash Dessai objecting to the bail applications argued that the knife used in the crime is yet to be recovered and the other 8 suspects are absconding. Dessai contended further that the incident occurred in a public place and has caused fear in the minds of the general public. That the condition of Maulali is critical and police are yet to record his statement.
