1.2 MMT ore to fetch Rs 166.87 cr

PANJIM: The state government has received bids of Rs 166.87 crore from the auction of 1.2 million metric tons (MMT) of ore held on March 5.

PANJIM: The state government has received bids of Rs 166.87 crore from the auction of 1.2 million metric tons (MMT) of ore held on March 5. 
According to data made available on the website of the Goa Mines Department, the total receipts exceeded the base price by Rs 63.15 crore which was set at Rs 103.72 crore. 
The ore is lying at Sinquerim jetty, Kothambi jetty, Bategal mines, Maina, Chunimolo mines, Rivona, MPT, process plant at Bicholim, Sigao /Collem, ACM jetty, Vagus jetty, Capxem jetty and Pale mine.
Among those who have bid includes Shree Bhavani Minerals, Shree Durga Mining Company, Agrawal Minerals Goa, Shradda Ispat, Sundar Industries, V M Salgaocar and Bros, Fomento Resources, Bagadiya Brothers, and Sesa Sterlite. 
The state government had collected Rs 93.81 crore through its first e-auction of 0.5 million tonnes of iron ore. Of this Rs 15 crore will come to the state treasury. The state has identified 15 million tonnes for auctioning.
