CANACONA: A resident of Bengaluru currently residing in Canacona was arrested for allegedly possessing narcotic substances worth over Rs two lakh and Indian currency notes of over Rs three lakh on Monday at Colomb.
Canacona police at a press conference informed that Andrew Gian Sealy a resident of Bangalore was arrested under NDPS Act.
DySP Uttam Raut Desai said on receiving the information from an informer the raiding party led by PSI Prashal Desai caught red handed the accused with narcotic drugs at Colomb.
The police found 16 gms of charas, 144 gms of hashish extract in oil form and 290 gms of Lysergic Acid Diethylamide all worth Rs 2.16 lakh in the international market and cash in Indian currency of Rs 3.1 lakh was also recovered. An Enfield motorbike and a laptop were also attached by the police. The accused will be produced before JMFC, Canacona for further remand.
DySP Uttam Raut Desai informed that this is the ninth case registered under NDPS Act this year at the Canacona Police Station and that they are maintaining a strict vigil on the beaches of Galgibag, Patnem, Palolem and Agonda regarding the consumption and sale of narcotic substances.
Further investigation is being conducted by PSI Prashal Desai under the supervision of DySP Uttam Raut Desai and PI Rajendra Prabhudesai.
