PANJIM: The entire one-kilometer stretch of slope on Kadamba Plateau, where the alleged illegal hill cutting is underway, would be declared as No Development Zone, Town and Country (TCP) Planning Minister Vishwajit Rane said, on Monday. Rane said that the proposal would be placed before the TCP Board for decision. He also said that the TCP had already issued stop work order.
He said that show cause notice will be issued to the project proponent seeking explanation and to see whether it had obtained any permission.
“Chief Town Planner will be asked to inspect the site and if required permissions, if granted, will be revoked,” Rane said.
Social activist Aires Rodrigues and RGP chief Manoj Parab had raised the issue of massive illegal hill cutting at Kadamba plateau behind a mall.
On Monday evening, the TCP Minister along with Chief Town Planner Rajesh Naik and other officials inspected the illegal hill cutting at the Kadamba Plateau and instructed officials to revoke permissions granted, if any.
