VASCO: Crime Branch sleuths on Wednesday seized 10 barrels of furnace oil in a raid conducted at Vasco.
According to information, on receipt of specific and reliable information that some person/s are illegally storing petroleum products in an open public area thereby endangering human life and property, a team of Crime Branch sleuths headed by PSI Lakshya Amonkar and other staff conducted a raid and found a pickup with 10 barrels of furnace oil of 200 litres each.
“During our raid we found that the petroleum product was illegally stored in open public place in a pickup bearing registration number GA02 V- 7615 near KTC shuttle service bus stand at Khariwado. The accused Javed Beig, a resident of Khariwado has been placed under arrest under Section 285 of IPC. We are also trying to verify the source of the furnace oil and are checking whether the source is through pilferage racket. Further investigation is in progress under the supervision of DySP and SP crime,” PSI Lakshya Amonkar said.
