PANJIM: The State government on Monday issued an order promoting 10 Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySPs) to the rank of Superintendent of Police (SP).
The Goa Public Service Commission (GPSC) had recommended the promotions of 10 DySPs. Those promoted to SP are Maria Monserrate, Gurudas Gawade, Edwin Colaco, Nelson Albuquerque, Sucheta Dessai, Ezilda D’Souza, Sunita Sawant, Rajendra Raut Dessai, Dharmesh Angle and Kiran Poduval.
Last month the State government had sent a proposal to the GPSC for seeking concurrence in relaxation in experience for promotion of 10 DySps to the position of SPs.
Some of the officers under consideration for promotion were falling short of about two years of experience and thus the government relaxed this requirement for promotion, which is five years of regular service.
