Would you believe it? The Tiracol-Kerim Ferry was stranded in the middle of the Tiracol river due to due to shortage of diesel in the afternoon. As a result, the lives of 10 passengers were in danger. The 10 passengers and a tempo with cooking gas were all towed safely to the Kerim side through a rescue operation by the Captain of Ports, coastal police & villagers by 5 pm.
The ferry staff said the ferry is old and therefore they did not get an indication that the fuel was over, nor were they carrying spare fuel on the ferry. The ferry back in however back in service only at 8 pm after they got the diesel.
