MARGAO: The 23-year-old accused charged with murdering a native of Manipur has been sentenced to ten years in prison. Banner Keishing who worked as a caretaker-cum-servant was charged with culpable homicide not amounting to murder and for destruction of evidence.
The victim, a 31-year-old Manipuri woman Chogmela Fernandes, was a native of Manipur, but married to a Goan and was living in Fatorda.
On Jan 23, 2017, the two had got into an argument over an issue and Keishing assaulted the woman with a baseball bat in a fit of anger resulting in serious injuries later resulting in her death.
