10-yr RI for Toraskar murder convict

MAPUSA: Additional District and Sessions Court at Mapusa sentenced one Rupesh Salgaokar to ten years rigorous imprisonment in Arun Toraskar murder case. 
The murder took place in 2013 when Rupesh Salgaokar and Arun Toraskar, both residents of Danda-Siolim had a fight over land dealing. 
At 12 am on that fateful day, Rupesh visited the pub and assaulted Arun with a hammer. Arun suffered serious head injuries and died on the spot. Judge Vijaya Pol sentenced Rupesh to ten years rigorous imprisonment and imposed Rs 10,000 fine failing which he would have to undergo additional six months imprisonment. Thirteen people who were arrested in the case have been acquitted.
