PANJIM: With almost 22 out of 77 government high schools achieving 100 per cent results in the SSC examination, Directorate of Education on Thursday said it is confident that the scenario will help bring a change in people’s attitude towards government schools.
“These 22 schools, most of them belong to the rural population have proven that with sheer hard work, resilience, and dedication, nothing is impossible. While these 22 schools have raised the standards of government schools, which may play a key role in changing people’s attitude towards them, more than 40 schools fall between 80 to 90 per cent of the result chart,” Education Department said in a press statement.
The department further said that the government has worked tremendously to take education to the doorstep of the people. Up gradation and qualitative improvement of education, the orientation of teachers to keep them abreast with modern techniques of teaching, skill-based training to students and strengthening the administrative machinery for effective implementation of policies have been the key emphasis of the department.
“The shake-up of the system has resulted in better government school education within a short span. The current scenario definitely will help bring a change in people’s attitude towards government schools,” the department added.
