104 Health helpline launched

PANJIM: The State government today launched the 104 Toll-Free Health Helpline Number in Goa today. 
Health Minister Vishwajit Rane said that 104 Helpline is an advanced step towards the healthcare sector. 
“The 104 health helpline number will act as a 24X7 call centre that provides health-related information, WRT schemes, blood bank details while also handling all grievances of patients, such as patient healthcare, medical equipment’s at various PHC, CHC, District hospitals,” he said adding “We hope that this initiative helps people to get educated with right information & measures. “
Earlier, the Health Minister conducted a review meeting with the Dean of GMC Pradeep Naik, MS of GMC Shivanand Bandekar, Director of GMC Dattaram Sardesai along with Ms Purti Patkar to inform them about the 104 health helpline number service. 
“In order to make the best use of this service, the process of the service was presented. This is not only to attend the health issues of the people but also educate them and understand the problems faced by them in the health sector,” he added. 
Purti Patkar is Nodal officer for Health projects
The Health Ministry has appointed the Ms Purti Patkar, who Head of Operations EMRI-108. 
Announcing this, Health Minister Vishwajit Rane said “Her dedicated efforts towards the health sector of Goa is incredible.  Noticing all her hard work, the Government is pleased to appoint Ms Purti Patkar as the Nodal Officer for the Health Ministry to deal with all projects and the new initiatives with regards to the Public Private Partnership (PPP) with immediate effect.”
