105 Agonda, Galgibaga structures issued fresh show cause notices

CANACONA: Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority (GCZMA) through the office of Canacona Deputy Collector has served fresh show cause notices to 105 structures, which were allegedly found to be operating illegally in the No Development Zone (NDZ) identified as turtle conservation sites at Agonda and Galgibaga beaches on Wednesday.
Sources said the show cause notices were hand delivered by the Talathis of Canacona Mamlatdar office.
It may be recalled that the demolition of the structures in the NDZ was stalled after the private shack owners had approached the court, which had given interim stay till June 10 and had restrained the authorities from taking any further steps in violation of principles of natural justice.
As such, GCZMA through the fresh notice has given the stakeholders a chance for hearing in the demolition case, sources said.
Some stakeholders said all those, who received the notices, have already commenced with the demolition of their structures and would soon restore the area to its original form.
