11-day Ganesh celebrations end

PONDA: The 11-day Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations in Ponda ended with the idols being taken for immersion in grand processions.

Amidst dancing, drumbeats and fireworks, to local water bodies. Residents of Tisk, Usgao also gave a grand farewell to their Sarvajanik Ganesh idol.
With Ganesh celebrations over, most revellers will soon bid farewell to their families, as most of them unite only for the festival.
Adpoi is a village that has nuclear families, whose members reside in different places but return to their ancestral house during Ganesh Chaturthi.
Kavlem resident Umesh Naik stated, “I have very fond memories of Ganesh Chaturthi. My family members have settled at different places in Goa, but we come together in our ancestral house to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi and share our happiness and problems. Bappa brought our family together, which is otherwise not possible.”
Ponda local Krishna Naik stated, “Our love for Bappa gave us relief from our tight work schedules. Everyone makes the best of this time. Our family might be spread across the world, but Ganesha brings us together.”
