PERNEM: In a self-accident at Konadi-Korgao, 11 labourers traveling in the tempo belonging to IOCL company were injured after the vehicle overturned.
According to sources, the incident occurred when the tempo was moving from Arambol to Pernem. The work of building a retaining wall is underway at Konadi which is where the driver lost control of the vehicle.
All the 11 laborers were seriously injured who were taken to the hospital in an ambulance. Six were admitted to Tuem Health Centre while five were admitted to Asilo hospital. The workers are from Banda, Maharashtra and were en route to Arambol to work on gas pipelines.
Thankfully, a major tragedy was averted since a primary school and a few houses are located below the safety wall.
