PANJIM: In all 11,115 persons exercised their franchise via postal ballot at the facilitation centres set up by Election Commission of India (ECI) between April 30 and May 5, 2024, the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Goa, said on Monday.
According to a data provided by the CEO, a total of 12,416 postal ballots were issued for both the districts, of which 11,115 voters cast their votes while 1,017 are underway, registering a voting percentage of 77.75 per cent.
In North Goa, a total of 6,812 postal ballots were issued, of these, 6,124 exercised their franchise while 562 are underway. In South Goa, of 5,604 postal ballots issued, 4,991 voters cast their votes while 455 are in progress.
The voting percentage in North Goa was 79.50 per cent and in South Goa it was 74.69 per cent.
