12 elected unopposed as Goa Dairy directors

CUNCOLIM: Twelve persons have been elected unopposed as directors of the Goa Dairy, after 26 nomination papers were rejected and three withdrew from the race, on Friday.

CUNCOLIM: Twelve persons have been elected unopposed as directors of the Goa Dairy, after 26 nomination papers were rejected and three withdrew from the race, on Friday. 
The returning officer rejected 26 nomination papers for reasons of not submitting declaration from the society, having associated with two apex bodies and also on the ground of not having audit of parent society.
A total 41 candidates had filed nomination papers for directors of Goa Dairy. There are total 12 posts of directors vacant in Goa Dairy which is going for polls next month. 
Sources say that on scrutiny, the nomination forms only 15 candidates were found to be correct in all aspects. Out of these 15, three candidates withdrew their nominations which helped 12 candidates to get elect unopposed. 
Meanwhile, Ramesh Naik, a candidate whose nomination has been rejected on the ground of not submitting declaration, told Herald that all the 25 candidates suspect conspiracy in their disqualification. 
He said that their nominations have been rejected for no valid reason hence they would move the High Court for a stay the election procedure. Naik said there were objections to other ruling directors also but that was not accepted by returning officer.
