VASCO: Vasco police on Monday night arrested 12 youth for causing nuisance by drinking in public places.
According PI Raposo, while he and his staff were on patrolling duty on Monday night, they found youth with liquor bottles sitting besides them and even broken liquor bottles were thrown near the area where they were sitting.
“Such nuisance needs to be curbed as people drink in public places and then throw/break liquor bottles on the road. Hence on Monday night we arrested 12 youth at different locations including Baina beach, near Vaddem Lake and near the Hindu crematorium at Khariwado. All were arrested under Section 41 of CrPC and were released on Tuesday. Also we have decided to continue such drives in future to ensure that no anti-social elements are seen loitering and moving in suspicious manner at late night in Vasco.”
