Valpoi: Twelve houses in Bhironda panchayat’s Asnsole village will be finally demolished as per the order issued by Sattari Deputy Collector Pravin Parab.
The settlement is infamously known as Abdul Chachaki Basti and will be demolished on Saturday, November 17 as per the order.
The illegal structures were constructed in survey no. 19/1 and eventually became a safe place for nefarious activities. The locals raised their voices against it but everything fell on deaf ears.
All the houses are occupied by migrants and do not have any valid documents and the matter was pending in deputy collector’s court for years. The Deputy Collector has also instructed the occupants to pay towards the costs of the case. He also stated that the houses are constructed on agricultural land without obtaining valid documents.
