PANJIM: Dengue cases are on the rise in Aldona and 12 suspected dengue cases have been reported at the Primary Health Centre (PHC), Aldona.
Aldona PHC Health Officer Dr Preetam Naik said that 12 suspected dengue cases have been reported in August and all the infected persons were not from Aldona but from other places. The infected persons were found to have contracted the disease at the workplace and not in the village.
Two persons were admitted to the Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim and they have now recovered. Dr Naik said that the PHC has taken all the preventive measures to combat mosquito breeding and also in association with the village panchayat organised an advocacy workshop for the villagers.
Stating dengue mosquito breeds in clean water, Dr Naik appealed to the people not to keep their water buckets uncovered and also to keep their surrounding clean.
