PANJIM/margao: In all total 12 nominations were filed on Monday for the upcoming Zilla panchayat (ZP) elections, taking the total tally to 21 candidates.
The process for filing of nominations for 50 ZP seats began from February 27. The last date for filing nominations is on March 5.
On Monday, total 12 nominations, eight from South Goa and four from North Goa were filled. This include six BJP candidates-from Aldona, Davorlim and Xeldem, three Aam Aadmi party candidates –from Curtorim, Navelim and Rivona while three Independents filed from Dhargal, Honda and Rivona.
Till date, total 12 nominations have been filed from South Goa, while nine have been filed from North Goa. Further, Vidyadhar Arlekar who has also filed his nomination from Davorlim is the dummy candidate for Ulhas Tuyenkar (BJP Davorlim) and will withdraw his papers.
