MAPUSA: The Pernem police booked 13 persons for allegedly assaulting a Goa Miles driver at Morjim on Monday night.
According to the police, one Alladin Kundri, a resident of Moti Dongor, Margao, lodged his complaint stating that at “Pause by the Sea” Tembwada-Morjim, the accused persons committed offence by forming an unlawful assembly with their common object, wrongfully restrained the complainant’s taxi cab of Goa Miles. The taxi with tourists onboard was proceeding from Tembwada to the Mopa International Airport.
They abused the complainant with filthy language and assaulted him with slaps. They also threatened him with dire consequences.
While eight accused have been identified, rest of them are mentioned as unknown accused. The accused who have been identified are Suresh Sattoji, Sandeep Bagkar, Mangesh Kannaik, Amit Naik, Sahadev Saptoji, Pranesh Purkhe, Vishant Saptoji and Rajat Gadekar. No arrest has been made yet, police said. A case has been registered against the accused under Sections 143, 147, 341, 504, 323 and 506(ii) read with 149 of IPC.
