132 polling stations listed critical in North Goa

A total of 132 polling stations out of 679 polling stations in North Goa have been listed as critical and vulnerable by the election authorities.
Disclosing this at a press conference, Returning Officer K S Singh said that Mapusa assembly constituency has six vulnerable polling stations followed by Bicholim which has six.
St Cruz (5), Thivim (3), Calangute (3), Ponda (2), Aldona (2), Taleigao (2), St Andre (2), Poriem (3), Siolim, Saligao, Valpoi and Priol are the other constituencies with vulnerable polling stations, he said.
According to Singh critical and vulnerable polling stations are the ones which has high percentage of non-EPIC card voters, missing voters, more than 75 per cent voting in last elections, more than 75 per cent voting for one candidate and area of anti-social element.
Singh further said that there are three polling stations in Pernem where there was 75 per cent voting in favour of one candidate – Bhatwadi, Uguem and Tombassaim.
He said at such polling stations additional security will be placed.
To a query on security, Singh said, no intimation has come from the Centre on the number of para-military forces to be deputed to Goa as yet.
