PERNEM: After two years of wait, the 14 affected Dhangar families who were rehabilitated from Mopa Airport site in November 2018, on Friday received the plots’ possession documents from the State government.
Deputy Chief Minister Manohar Ajgaonkar on Friday handed over the plots’ possession documents to the 14 Dhangar families which were rehabilitated from Mopa Airport site in the presence of Pernem Deputy Collector Ravi Shankar Nipanikar, District Collector Gopal Parsekar, Civil Aviation officer and Pernem Mamlatdar Anant Malik.
Addressing the mediapersons, Ajgaonkar informed that in November 2018, the 14 affected families were given possession of the house, cow/goat sheds. However, the legal documents of the plots were not handed over to them. Along with the houses, they are also given allotment documents of the community hall and crematorium.
Ajgaonkar further informed that he has directed the concerned authorities to take immediate steps on repairs of the houses.
“I have received complaints regards to leaking of water and collapsing of ceilings. I have instructed the concerned authorities to take the repair work of these houses on immediately basis,” he added.
The 14 families include Chimani Dhaku Varak, Savitri Janu Varak, Changu Sidhu Varak, Sonu Vithu Varak, Geeta Gangaram Kharwat, Dhaku Bhago Varak, Umesh Arjun Kambli, Sidhu Varak, Bablo Babu Varak, Dhaku Babu Varak, Gangu Varak, Manda Padu, Varak, Vithu Raya Varak.
