CANACONA: Fourteen people were injured when the tempo flipped over on its side, after the driver lost control over the vehicle due to alleged break failure, at Cola in Canacona taluka.
The passengers were travelling from Assolna to Agonda, when the mishap occurred.
Sources at Canacona police station told Herald that the tempo (GA-08-U-9705) was going to Agonda for litany services, and when it reached the slope at Parekotto, Cola the breaks apparently failed, due to which the driver of the vehicle lost his control over the vehicle and the vehicle flipped on its side three times before coming to a halt at a distance of about 30 metres from the road.
All the 14 injured were immediately rushed to Canacona Community Health Centre, where five were discharged after first aid. However, nine victims were referred to Hospicio hospital, Margao for fractures and possible head injuries.
