VALPOI: Fourteen of the sixteen ancient stone idols which had gone missing from the temple premises of Basaveshwar Devasthan, Valpoi have been found.
During the search operation, Valpoi police recovered the idols from the nearby Mhadei river. Valpoi PI Dinesh Gadekar said that the search for remaining two idols is on and assured that they will be recovered as well.
It can be recalled that 16 stone idols from the temple’s premises had gone missing and the respective incident had come to light on Monday. The search operations had begun since and the idols were located during the search operation on Friday.
