PONDA: A 15 year-old student of Savordem Guardina High School, Bhagat Singh Dayya drowned on Wednesday. The incident took place around 2 pm at Shiroda Mhysal Dam where the boy had come for a picnic along with his friends.
The 10th standard student had informed that he was going for tuitions. After learning about the incident, locals rushed to the spot and helped the Savordem Fire Station Personnel recover the body around 4 pm. This marked the second recent drowning case in Ponda taluka. Earlier, a 12th standard student from Vasco had drowned at a farm in Ponda where she had come to celebrate her board exam results.
