PANJIM: As many as 1,500 candidates will appear for Computer Based Recruitment Test (CBRT) for various posts scheduled across five centres on Sunday, a crucial examination held by Goa Public Service Commission (GPSC).
Out of the total, maximum 1,200 are for the rank of junior scale officers while the remaining constitutes assistant professors and medical officers in the Directorate of Health Services, and College Director of Physical Education.
The 75 marks exams of 75 minutes will be held at Padre Conceicao College of Engineering at Verna, Don Bosco College of Engineering at Fatorda; Rosary College of Commerce & Arts, Navelim; Agnel Institute of Technology and Design, Assagao and St Xavier’s College in Mapusa.
The State has been grappling to get civil service aspirants clear the first round of the examination prompting the Goa Public Service Commission to re-advertise various posts. In the recent past, candidates have given disappointing performance forcing the commission to re-advertise posts such as junior scale officer whereas posts in other departments will be advertised in the near future.
In June, only 10 out of 879 shortlisted applicants for the four posts of Block Development Officers had cleared the Computer Based Recruitment Test adding to poor performance by the Goa Public Service Commission aspirants.
GPSC is the first organisation in the State to successfully adopt the CBRT, which it held for the first time for the post of junior scale officers in 2017 with an aim to bring efficiency, transparency in recruitment process. The initiative of Noronha had negative mark for every wrong answer.
The GPSC however did away with the negative marks thereafter.
