PANJIM: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant inaugurated the 150th anniversary celebration of the Foundation Day of Institute Menezes Braganza (IMB) Panjim on Wednesday. At the function, the Chief Minister praised and felicitated Padmashree Vinayak Khedekar and award winning writers Pundalik Naik and Ulhas Prabhudessai.
While highlighting the contributions of IMB to society, the CM however also noted that there are several similar associations in Goa that organise award functions annually and questioned if there will be dearth of people to be selected for these numerous awards.
The Chief Minister also spoke about the achievements of his own government, especially the Education Department and the many new courses the government has introduced during his tenure.
He gave the example of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chair on Leadership & Governance which he inaugurated at Goa University recently.
He also referred to other measures like the Private University Bill, the push for robotics and skill development as well as creating technocrats and a pool of professional resources in various sectors including Education.
