PANJIM: The State on Tuesday sent 16 COVID-19 suspects into isolation at Goa Medical College, while eight ‘contacts’ have been put under facility quarantine. The status of COVID-19, released by the Directorate of Health Services, states that in addition to these suspects, nine passengers have been home quarantined.
Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant on Tuesday announced that henceforth those in home quarantine will be identified through a stamp outside their houses. The move is to ensure that persons, who are also being stamped for home quarantine, do not venture out of their homes even as health officials are monitoring their movements.
The government has further sent 62 samples for testing and reports of four have been received, which are negative. The media bulletin also reveals that no positive cases were reported on Tuesday.
At present, contacts quarantined at the North Goa district hospital are three, at the Sub District hospital at Ponda are six, at Old Goa Residency are 14 and at Margao Residency there are 46. At the ESI hospital there are five positive cases admitted, while patients at the GMC isolation ward are 32.
