VASCO: The teams constituted by the Mormugao administration to survey the remaining structures at Baina beach have completed their task; they have identified 163 structures that will soon be demolished. A checklist of the structures will be ready by Wednesday and the teams will submit the final report to the Mormugao mamlatdar on Thursday. The mamlatdar will submit the report and checklist to the Mormugao Deputy Collector, who will forward the same to South Collector. The report will finally be submitted to the Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority (GCZMA).
“We have completed the task and have covered all the remaining structures at Baina beach, including structures owned by the fishing community. To avoid confusion, we have clubbed small structures attached to one another as one structure, and the final tally of the structures is 163. Once the process of submitting the reports is completed, GCZMA will issue a notice to the structures, followed by demolition early next year,” a source told herald.
The survey of structures started on November 3. The survey teams physically verified all the structures and took measurements to prepare a checklist.
