PANJIM: The Excise Department auctioned 165 cashew zones in the last week, raising the total auctioned zones to 303 out of a total 1662 areas in the north and south Goa.
The auctions have fetched Rs 15.11 lakh with further auctions scheduled after the counting of the votes on March 11.
The department had earned Rs 32.23 lakh last year, a little more than revenue generated in 2015 which was recorded at Rs 31.93 lakh. The year 2014 had recorded Rs 34.58 lakh revenue for the State.
