PANJIM: As many as 176 projects in Goa, on which Rs 488.78 crore were spent were reported to be incomplete till March 31, 2023, a Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG)
Report has observed.
Out of them, 22 projects were reported to be 100 per cent physically completed but had not yet attained financial closure while 49 projects were planned for completion after 31 March 2023, a CAG report has observed.
According to the CAG report tabled in the state assembly, there were 105 incomplete projects (more than Rs one crore each) as on 31 March 2023 for which Rs 216.35 crore had been spent as of March 2023. Of these, two projects which commenced as long back as 2014-15 remained incomplete as of March 2023.
Of the 105 incomplete projects, 88 projects with an estimated cost of Rs 592.81 crore were delayed by one to three years, the report said, adding roads, bridges and buildings department accounted for 89 per cent of the estimated cost of incomplete projects.
