18-Year-Old Student Allegedly Commits Suicide in Mapusa

In a tragic incident, 18-year-old Swayam Vaikunth Naik, a first-year science allegedly took his own life at his residence in Khorlim, Mapusa. Swayam was preparing for a joint entrance examination. The motive behind this tragic decision remains unclear. Swayam is described as a promising student pursuing his education.

A neighbour stated that Swayam’s body was discovered by his father at 3:30 pm on Friday. “His Father went to call him and found his room locked from the inside with no response. He entered through the other door and found his son lying unresponsive. Adding to the tragedy, Swayam allegedly left behind a note, expressing his wish that no blame be placed on anyone for his actions. The motive behind his decision remains unclear.

Swayam has left behind his parents, a younger brother and his grandparents. The Mapusa Police are conducting further investigations.
