PANJIM: A total of 18,269 Class XII students are set to answer their first term examination, beginning from December 8.
Also, another 20,667 candidates will answer the Class X examination that is set to commence from December 9.
For the very first time, the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (GBSHSE), has divided the 2021-22 academic year into two terms with 50 per cent of the syllabus to be covered in each term.
The first term Board examination for major subjects for Class XII will be conducted from December 8 to 18. For Class X, the major subject examinations will begin from December 9 and run till December 17.
As per information shared by the Goa Board, of the total 18,269 Class XII students, 9,265 are female candidates, 8943 are male and 61 are those seeking improvement in marks or private candidates.
Further, a maximum of 5,490 students are appearing from Commerce stream, followed by 5083 in Science, 4699 in Arts and 2,998 for Vocational.
For Class X, 10,436 male candidates have registered while the numbers of female students are 10,069. There are 79 students in the other category.
The first term examination will be a 90-minute paper with multiple choice questions (MCQs) only.
The Class XII exams will be conducted across 18 centres while Class X exams are scheduled in 31 centres.
